Course Description
This three-day program is designed to ensure that first responders, managers, supervisors, and other personnel are trained in conducting a proper accident investigation, including securing the scene, interviewing witnesses, photographing the scene, writing the report, and identifying the root causes of the accident.
Learning Outcomes
- This program teaches:
- Learn the basic step-by-step procedure for approaching the scene and performing the investigation.
- Explain what an accident/incident is, its frequency, and its cost.
- Recognize and use the initial response to the scene.
- Review guidelines for effective interviewing.
- Collect evidence using the four P’s – People, Parts, Position, and Paper- and participate in a mock accident/incident investigation.
- Complete the appropriate information in an accident/investigation report.
