Course Description

The Certified Latex Allergy Healthcare Worker (CLAHW) certification is designed to educate healthcare professionals on the recognition, prevention, and management of latex allergies in clinical and healthcare environments. As latex exposure remains a significant occupational health concern for healthcare workers and patients, this course provides essential knowledge to identify latex-related hazards, reduce exposure risks, and maintain compliance with workplace safety and infection control standards.

Participants will learn about the causes of latex allergies, types of allergic reactions, common sources of latex exposure, high-risk populations, and the impact of latex sensitivity in healthcare settings. The course covers OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens requirements, safe glove selection, latex-free alternatives, personal protective equipment (PPE), workplace hazard assessments, emergency response procedures, and organizational policies for preventing latex-related incidents.
