Course Description
The Certified Introduction to Environmental Health and Safety (CIEHS) certification is an entry-level training program designed for professionals who are new to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management. This comprehensive course provides a strong foundation in environmental regulations, occupational health, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance, preparing participants to recognize hazards, support EHS programs, and promote safe and environmentally responsible workplaces across various industries.
Participants will gain an understanding of the major U.S. environmental, health, and safety laws, OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and fundamental EHS management principles. The curriculum covers hazard identification, risk assessment, chemical safety, biological and physical hazards, ergonomics, waste management, pollution prevention, emergency preparedness, environmental compliance, incident reporting, and workplace safety responsibilities.
Through practical examples and real-world applications, students will learn how to identify workplace hazards, implement basic EHS compliance measures, support environmental protection initiatives, and contribute to effective workplace safety programs. Upon successful completion, participants will possess the foundational knowledge required to support Environmental, Health & Safety operations and help organizations maintain regulatory compliance while protecting employees and the environment.
