Course Description

The Certified Hospital Based First Receivers of Victims of Mass Casualties Manager (CHFRMC) certification is an advanced training program designed for healthcare professionals, emergency managers, hospital administrators, first receivers, and disaster response personnel responsible for managing mass casualty incidents involving hazardous materials, chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRN) threats. This comprehensive course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely receive, decontaminate, treat, and manage victims while protecting healthcare workers and maintaining hospital operations.

Participants will gain a thorough understanding of emergency preparedness, hospital emergency response systems, hazardous substance recognition, decontamination procedures, incident command systems (ICS), personal protective equipment (PPE), exposure control, and regulatory compliance. The curriculum covers chemical, biological, radiological, and hazardous materials (HazMat) incidents, hospital emergency management planning, mass casualty triage, contamination control, patient isolation, emergency communications, and coordination with local, state, and federal emergency response agencies.

Through practical scenarios and real-world applications, students will learn how to develop comprehensive emergency management plans, identify hazards, implement hospital decontamination procedures, protect healthcare personnel, and coordinate effective responses during large-scale emergencies. Upon successful completion, participants will be prepared to lead hospital-based emergency response operations, improve disaster preparedness, and enhance patient and responder safety during mass casualty incidents.
