$1,295.00
Level: Intermediate Type: On_site Duration: 16 weeks Hours: 40 hours

Course Description

The Certified Freshwater Oil Spill Control – Tactical and Operations Level (CFOSC) course provides comprehensive training for professionals responsible for responding to freshwater oil spill emergencies. Designed for emergency responders, environmental professionals, regulatory personnel, contractors, and industry personnel, this intensive 40-hour program focuses on tactical response strategies for oil spills affecting rivers, streams, inland waterways, terrestrial environments, and subsurface locations.

Participants will gain practical knowledge of oil spill containment, recovery, and environmental protection techniques through classroom instruction, multimedia presentations, and hands-on simulation exercises. The course covers the selection and deployment of containment booms, skimmers, sorbents, and chemical response agents, while emphasizing safe operational procedures, contingency planning, documentation, and coordination of response teams.

Students will also learn shoreline protection strategies, oil recovery methods, waste management, environmental restoration, and incident leadership responsibilities. By combining regulatory guidance with real-world response scenarios, this certification prepares participants to effectively manage freshwater oil spill incidents while minimizing environmental damage and ensuring compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.
