Course Description
The Certified Forklift Operator Train the Trainer (CFOTT) course is designed for experienced forklift operators, supervisors, safety professionals, warehouse managers, and training personnel responsible for developing and delivering OSHA-compliant forklift operator training programs. This comprehensive certification equips participants with the instructional knowledge, presentation skills, and technical expertise required to establish and manage an effective in-house forklift safety training program.
Based on OSHA Powered Industrial Truck Standard 29 CFR 1910.178 and applicable industry best practices, the course covers all aspects of forklift operator training, including safe operating procedures, equipment inspections, hazard recognition, material handling, workplace safety rules, and operator performance evaluations. Participants will also learn how to conduct classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, written examinations, and hands-on skills assessments to ensure operators meet regulatory and company-specific competency requirements.
Special emphasis is placed on adult learning principles, communication skills, classroom management, course administration, and developing engaging training materials. Participants will prepare and deliver a training presentation, gaining valuable experience in teaching forklift safety while learning how to evaluate operator performance and maintain OSHA-compliant training records.
Upon successful completion, graduates will be qualified to develop, implement, and manage company-specific forklift operator training programs that improve workplace safety, reduce accidents, and ensure compliance with OSHA Powered Industrial Truck regulations.
